Be aware that the trail environ in Chippewa County is heavily used by deer hunters during the gun deer hunting seasons. Use of the trail during this period is a personal decision and carries an elevated degree of risk. If you choose to use the trail during one of these periods, be respectful of private landowners and always wear blaze orange garments.
This year there are three distinct periods.
1. October 15-18 - This affected only Chippewa County in the northern part of the state. For a detailed map, go to the DNR site. The trail in Chippewa County is entirely within “Deer Management Unit 23″.
2. November 21-29 - Statewide
3. December 10-13 - Statewide
The Oct. 15-18 date does NOT apply to any other of the northern sections of the trail. For more information see the DNR map.
