Deer hunting season runs from Saturday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 29. Deer hunting is present or potentially present on the entire trail in Chippewa County. If you plan to be out on the trail for any reason during this period, be sure to wear lots of blaze orange and keep the following in mind:
- Many segments of the Trail crossing public land remain open during hunting seasons, but those segments should not be used unless the hiker wears blaze orange.
- Many segments crossing private land are closed during hunting seasons and should not be used under any circumstances.
There is a follow-up four day gun hunting period from Thursday, Dec. 10 through Sunday, Dec. 13. The same warnings and precautions apply.
