Ten volunteers joined hands on Saturday, August 22 to reconstruct a failing bridge over a flowing creek, lop and clear several miles of trail, and as a bonus, reset an additional bridge on rock supports. The center of the show was the larger bridge that had a rotten deck, and which had heaved and shifted out of place.
Dee Dechert, Dave Rasmussen, Tony Schuster, Jane Schultz, Donna Pachaud, Kate and Bonnie Mullins, Mary Skalecki, Vicki Christianson, and Richard Smith made up the team. Landowner Harley Thompson paid a visit and provided pointers as well as helping lift the small bridge off to one side. He also pointed us to the cache of field-picked rock that was ours for the taking.
