Meeting Minutes - January 21, 2008
Present: Richard Smith, Pat McKearn, JoAnn Parks, Nancy Schuster, Tony Schuster, Dave Caliebe, Brad Schwartz, Diane Kuhn and Rick Magyar
Tony Schuster opened the evening with a very interesting and colorful slide presentation, “Million Steps Across Spain,” of the 500 mile Camino de Santiago trail he and his wife, Nancy, hiked in September of 2002.
After the presentation, the meeting was called to order by Richard Smith.
Reports:
After a name change, the minutes were approved.
Financial report was distributed showing a current balance of $5,435.00 and was approved
Merchandise sales since the November meeting totaled $260.
A donation of $200 from the Holcombe United Methodist Church was received and very much appreciated.
Current membership decreased by two households and now totals 106
The 50th Anniversary Annual Conference of the Ice Age Trail will be held April 16-20, 2008 in Campbellsport, which is South off Fond du Lac, and may include hiking sections of the North Kettle Morraine.
Old Business:
By unanimous vote, the 2008 “In The Mud Award” was awarded to Tony Schuster
JoAnn Parks reported that the First Aid certificates were good for one more year; but the CPR certificates had expired after one year. It was agreed to wait until expiration of the First Aid certificates before scheduling another refresher session.
Richard reported the 2008 calendar postcards had been mailed out.
New Business:
Officers for the upcoming year: Coordinator, Richard Smith; Vice-Coordinator, Rick Magyar; Secretary, Diane Kuhn; Treasurer, Rick Magyar
Trail Maintenance Coordinator and Trail Segment Adopters were discussed. Richard will check out the trail to check if there are sections that have not been adopted. Sections that were verified include:
Visitors Center Rod Gont
Plummer Lake Road (167th Street) to Deer Fly Brad Schwartz
Deer Fly to Hwy E
Hwy E to 245th Dave Caliebe
Hwy Z to Hwy CC JoAnn Parks
Next meeting will be held March 17th at Chippewa Falls Library @ 6:00
